Ignition
The ignition system is an electrical setup that enables sending each spark plug a very powerful electric pulse. From the ignition coil to the spark plug, it provides the high voltage current.
Manufacturers use ignition systems only in engines that use spark ignition (SI). It's because they ignite the air-fuel combination using a spark plug. It ignites the combination of air and gasoline in petrol engines. A diesel engine, however, DOES NOT require an ignition coil.
